What is the Hamilton and District CUPE Council?
The Hamilton and District CUPE Council is made up of affiliated CUPE locals in the Hamilton, Halton and Haldimand regions. The Council is chartered to the Canadian Union of Public Employees as Local 9114.
What does the Hamilton and District CUPE Council do?
The Hamilton and District CUPE Council is dedicated to uniting and empowering CUPE members across the region through solidarity, education, advocacy and collective action. We support our affiliated locals and the community by fostering collaboration, resource-sharing and mutual support through:
- A presence at Labour Day and other union-minded events
- On-the-ground support for campaigns, strikes and job actions
- Shared training through CUPE Education
Who can join the Hamilton and District CUPE Council?
All CUPE Locals serviced out of the Hamilton Area Office are eligible to affiliate with the Council. Locals not serviced out of this office, but have members who work in Hamilton, Halton or Haldimand regions, are often also able to affiliate. Reach out in either case.
Interested members are welcome to attend Council meetings and events as guests ahead of affiliating. Please reach out to attend our next meeting.
